James Byrne - Principal Consultant

I am the Principal Consultant for Glenville Mining, and whether you are a client looking to hire, a mining professional considering a change, somewhere in between, or perhaps even both, your relationship with Glenville Mining will be with me.

After reading Geography at The University of Leicester, my early professional career was outside of this discipline before entering the recruitment industry in 2010. After a year working in the IT recruitment sector in Europe, I made the move into mining in 2011 and have remained in this sector ever since, concentrating predominantly on senior technical and management disciplines throughout.

My career in recruiting for the international mining industry has taken me from London to Australia, China and West Africa, during which time I have provided recruitment services to explorers, small, mid-cap and major operators, consultancies and private equity houses, and met some incredible professionals, many of whom I have been proud to assist with career-enhancing moves into new positions.

Glenville associates

Glenville Mining maintains a network of Associates as technical specialists who are able to assess the technical competency of all our registered professionals. These Associates are industry experts who can be called upon to conduct technical screening of candidates when required to assess the skills required for any particular role.

Glenville Mining also maintains a number of non-technical Associates to assess the language skills of individuals being introduced for positions requiring language(s) other than English. Our Associates are able to assess language competency in French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.
