General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
GDPR is the latest legislation designed to protect individuals and their data. It is a replacement for the Data Protection Act of 1998 to compensate for new, previously unanticipated ways that data is now used by businesses.
GDPR explained
At its core, GDPR is about protecting individuals and their rights, specifically the right to control their own data. The biggest difference between GDPR and other privacy regulations is that GDPR specifically awards individuals a series of rights around the use of their personal information. There are 7 rights individuals are provided that comprise this overarching goal, based on the definitions set by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). These are:
The right to be informed
This is the right to transparency. It’s the responsibility of Glenville Mining to communicate what data we are collecting, what we are storing/processing, and how we intend to use it.
Glenville Mining will be collecting information from registered candidates related to personal contact information, current employment, salary details, work history, technical skills/expertise, professional references and future employment preferences. This data will be used for the purpose of securing registered candidates relevant future employment opportunities and for the anonymous reporting of industry trends.
This data will be stored on our secure recruitment Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System which is SOC 2 Type II certified and verified by a top third-party auditor. SOC 2 Type II is one of the top security certifications for SaaS platforms, providing assurance that your data is always protected.
Glenville Mining will be collecting information from clients and potential clients regarding contact information, general company information, details of operations and reporting lines, vacancy details/job descriptions and salary/benefits for specific positions. This data will be used for the purpose of candidate assessment, introducing registered candidates for open positions with our clients, consulting and industry mapping.
The right to access
This right requires Glenville Mining to confirm to registered candidates and clients that we are processing their data.

If you wish to contact us about having your personal information rectified because of inaccuracy, please send an email with the subject ‘FAO Privacy Officer’ to info@glenvillemining.com
The right to erasure
This right is also known as the right to be forgotten. As part of GDPR, an individual has the right to request we delete any and all information we have on them.

The right to data portability
This right allows registered candidates and clients to obtain and reuse personal data.
Should any registered candidate or client invoke this right, we must and will provide your personal data in a common readable form such as a CSV file. If you wish to contact us about having your personal information data forwarded to you, please send an email with the subject ‘FAO Privacy Officer’ to info@glenvillemining.com.
